Five Drug Suspect Arrested In Danao City Cebu

ANTI-DRUG operatives arrested five men and seized P400,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust in Barangay Poblacion, Danao City, Cebu last Thursday.
Senior Insp. Henrix Bancoleta of the Regional Anti-Illegal Drugs Task Force Group 7 said the operation was the result of a month-long surveillance after receiving a tip of motorcycle-for-hire driver Reyan Mansueto's illegal business.
The other suspects were identified as Jestoni Ramos, Jeffrey Ramos, Noel Cal and Virgilio Dagatan.
The operation was conducted at 6 p.m. where a police poseur buyer bought P1,000 worth of shabu from Mansueto.
When the item was handed over, Bancoleta said, they raided the suspects who were inside Mansueto's rented apartment in Olaivar St.
Packs
The suspects attempted to escape, but they got trapped. (They were over-confident because there were no raids there)," Bancoleta said.
The operatives found three big packs, two medium packs and two small packs of shabu that weighed 75 grams, when they searched the house.
Aside from this, several drug paraphernalia, P2,300 in cash that was believed to be drug proceeds, and a .38 revolver with four live bullets were also confiscated.
The suspected shabu was brought to PNP Regional Crime Laboratory 7 for chemical analysis.
Jestoni served as Mansueto's cohort while the other three were caught by police conducting a pot session inside the house, which is also used as a drug den.
The police considers the suspect as a level two drug pusher who can dispose of 250 grams of shabu per week.
During a tactical interview, Bancoleta said, Mansueto denied all the allegations against him. But the three drug users pointed to him as their source of drugs.
Complaints for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the five men.
Those found guilty of violating Section 5 (sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (possession of dangerous drugs) of Article 2 of RA 9165 may be jailed for life and fined from P500,000 to P10 million.
A separate complaint for illegal possession of firearms will also be filed against Jestoni before the Danao City Prosecutor's Office.
