Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar was hosted on Channels TV in Nigeria a couple of days ago and was asked what role she would willingly turn down for a huge lump sum of money, and gave this response:
“For the fact that I’m a responsible woman, and I love and respect my country, and of course my family, I would not take a role that has to do with baring it all you know… nudity…”
She then went ahead to say she will think about wearing a bikini in a movie role for that amount of money.
Halima’s response is quite interesting especially the aspect that has to do with bikini considering that most of her colleagues are almost easily wearing bikinis in current movies being released without the feel of any shyness on screen. She probably should advise some of her colleagues who don’t seem to bother about showing themselves up on screens, to help make movies more decent and retain the true values that made Nollywood movies an attraction to the world.
By the way, how does she then justify her role in the movie “Mistresses”?
